a duet with nature
As I step into you;
acknowledging, observing, listening,
your green tentacles wrap around my feet,
and your gentle, cool breath encircles me.
I close my eyes,
and allow you to send my body into movement.
This unusual duet,
driven by your sound, texture and unexpectedness,
takes me on a journey
that seems to blur the lines between me and you.
I open my eyes,
and my mind becomes flooded with thoughts.
'Why are you, my lifelong companion, treated as my inferior?
With neglect and disrespect?'
As I open the door
and sit down in front of a bright light of electrically charged signals and sounds,
that now feel so irrelevant to you,
a sense of detachment sinks in,
and I once again,
long to step out,
in attempt to blur the lines
between me and you.
